Its your windows machine making the noise in response to the ascii bell character, the Pi has no control over what happens.
Perhaps the question that I should have asked is of whether there are any other audio ASCII characters.
Not specified, the bell character is also the alerts character, but the client terminal could interpret a character as an alternative beep if it was set up that way, there were plenty of not-quite-standard uses of ascii codes in the past.

However most terminals aren't straight ascii, most of them are some form of ANSI. Ascii was for teletype/printing type devices so didn't have a clear screen, ANSI introduced escape codes to add functionality such as erase display. So there might be other sound codes, hopefully someone with a memory can answer that.
