Ok that image is built on Bookworm and on a Pi3+ gives me similar errors to those you saw.
May be easier to install their 8.2 image and upgrade piaware from the web page it creates for you.

So the problem is in the image as I suspected. I have also sent a email to their support but no reply so far.
