However I have come back the the Waveshare, with 2 stick I now know are good. They simply fail to appear. looking a dmesg I can't see any attempt to access them, it's simply as if there is no NVMe "subsystem" in existence.
At the above point there are 2 sticks of NVMe installed.

Well I've done a whole bunch more messing around , mostly with a Argon 5 NVMe , this works fine , all my NVMe sticks work here (an it can boot from them (but it does only have one NVMe slot... so the bug/feature is not an issue.Yes, the SSD cannot be used for booting.
The related driver could only been enabled after booting the OS which make the NVME can not be recognzied if you remove the SD card.

- Did not even stay powered up with an Orange Pi CM4 (WS support said this was not supported ...after I'd bought all the HW)
- Did not boot from NVMe (WS support said this was not supported ...after I'd bought all the HW)
- Does not seem to work with 2 sticks of NVMe installed (well I have bought all the hardware)
