My first one was the spell checker, that got fixed with updated pasberry pi package
The instructions clearly state to put redshift.conf in ~/.config/
~ means your home directory, such as /home/pi or /home/eric or whatever.
.config is a hidden subdirectory. You should find that it is already there, but the period at the beginning causes the OS to hide it.
So, making two files is pointless, and putting them in the wrong place won't work. Try again.
