Troubleshooting • Re: Application icon showing in launcher, but not task bar

A frustrating update:

As stated above on X11, the icon I pointed the .desktop file to shows in the launch bar/favorites but not the task bar window for the running program. On Wayland, changing nothing, the .desktop file icon does not show in the launch bar/favorites, but does show in the task bar window for the running program.

In both compositors the icon shows when the program is added to the desktop, and in the RPi dropdown.

Further attempted troubleshooting with reboots in between:

- Converted icon to PNG. No further improvement.

- Tried putting various size PNG icons in /usr/share/icons/hicolor folders and pointing my .desktop file to them. Ensured the png name matched the program name, "Obsidian". I can see the desktop icon changing resolution, but didn't fix the missing issues.

- Placed obsidian.svg in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable. No luck.

- Tried to refresh icon caches with below terminal command. No luck.
"Solution" at least for Obsidian:

Install via Flatpak instead of trying to use an AppImage. Pretty underwhelming solution and does nothing for those who refuse to use Flatpak but yeah. I have icons everywhere they should be now.
