Automation, sensing and robotics • Re: Automatic Bat detector.

Kevin,

I recall seeing a write-up of this thing a few years ago but can't be sure it was in MagPi or other publication I read. I do remember the graphic.

There was a time that I could just hear the little guys but now I'm pushed to hear/understand modern acting on my TV. Years back a mate of mine was outlining someone he knew was a hot-shot bat detector maker so my interest was already peaked.

The ticks you describe are more likely caused by busts of activity on the SD card interface either directly radiating or just glitches on the power supply getting picked up by the sensitive ultrasonic audio from end. Maybe an extra well placed supply decoupling capacitor or two is needed. Will investigate when mine turns up. I have already brushed with my PiAware system stuffing my TV reception when redeployed to my loft and close to my TV antenna.

As for this thread getting moved I can sort-of understand but would have considered "Other projects" a better home than this one. Never good to challenge these things, your post is still here.

Just a thought ... is there a forum that supports this device other than maybe here for news, updates, etc. ?
