There is now a 3rd party HAT+ that includes a HAILO 8L plus an M2 slot for NVMe (with space for 2280).
It's a bit more expensive than the official M2 HAT+ and AI kit together but it's a drop in replacement for AI kit and addresses that problem of using NVMe storage via M2 with the AI kit. I am just wondering why Raspberry Pi didn't take this approach. Maybe they will.
