SDK • openocd speed differences between cmsis-dap.cfg and picoprobe.cfg

I´ve seen differences in speed to setup a deploy and run into an rpi pico after I upgraded from picoprobe.cfg to cmsis-dap.cfg.
Is this something affecting my system (mac) or something more generalized?
Why was cmsis is the new choice? is it more standard?
