Beginners • Re: How do you handle your IoT services? Does the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 work for home automation?

Look for older ESP based devices, there are still many.. I don't know how well they have 'cracked' different chipset for you own flashing.

Look at projects like ESPhome (in collaboration with HomeAssistant),Tasmota is simple and great for plugs, there are others too but they're the main ones.
Tasmota you flash and then setup,. ESPHome you specify, it then build and you have generally more control over it.


HomeAssistant has been working for me, has an Android App to, we pages etc.
There are other I tried but HA was the one that worked best for me at the time.


ESPHome/Tasmota provide list of devices you may be able to use.


You can build your own of course PICO/RP2
