I think you are creating a conspiracy theory far beyond any reality which exists.Chill guys, see the OP, it's the OP's first posting. The problem is posed much like a prompt to an AI tool. I've been seeing a lot of such things lately on the Pico forums. No follow up from the OP. I'm not convinced any of them is doing a real project, because some of the queries are definitely wacky.
I think it could be AI company subcontractors that have taken contracts to produce training data for AI. The AI companies will be none the wiser. This would account for the poor language of some of these postings (perhaps South Asian contractors *cough*). Maybe they would harvest such threads and sell them to the AI companies as valuable datasets on embedded computing (heheh) and snarky critical posts such as mine would be trimmed off.
And the danger is that some people who 'really haven't got a clue', are noobs or merely victims of not being able to clearly express themselves, or in the English tongue, will be dismissed or ignored as being part of that conspiracy, worse still are fed BS or misleading advice instead of the help and guidance they need.
What may look like AI to some, is what I've had to deal with in supporting customers for some decades now, long before AI became a thing. It's what one can expect from certain quarters, even from those one might think would know better, would be expected to do better.
I have actually dealt with those who have done exactly what the OP has done, can't figure out how it should be done. They need it explaining to them, why it won't work, and how one can make it work. It's usually simply something beyond their current level of understanding. They've grasped one idea, but run into issues expanding on that because of limited knowledge and experience.
I'd hate "I smell an AI" to become as common as "I smell a troll" and similar, where some feel the need to let others know that. That merely adds noise, and counters to that, like this, adds even further noise. It also suggests a view that others shouldn't be helping when they do, and all based on an unevidenced smell.
Perhaps the forum's one rule, "be good to each other", should extend to trolls and suspected AI. Just ignore it or report it. There's no need to tell others what one personally thinks of an OP.
