Dear community, mainly addressed to the Pico 2 board/module vendors:
Why all these Pico 2 cannot support 1V8 logic (on GPIOs)?
I need 1V8 logic levels (on PIO GPIOs, on SPI GPIOs etc., even in future I need 1V2 logic levels - not possible with MCU itself).
The MCU chip can do 1V8 ! (supporting 1V8 GPIO levels, even all other runs with 3V3, e.g. USB, QSPI flash).
Just: all the boards/modules I have seen (ordered and played with) can not be modified to run VDDIO as 1V8!
Why not?
Please, have a "feedback" via external pins, so that I can provide 1V8 for VDDIO (with external LDO), so that all GPIOs have a 1V8 logic level.
This is not my "private" requirement: I want to use this RP2350 and the modules in our office lab (for testing other chips).
Please, think about industrial users which might need to run all as 1V8 (or even 1V2 logic in future): 1V8 is a pretty common interface standard meanwhile in the industry (and used to optimize power consumption).
(designing a PCB just with level shifters, but even MCU is able to provide 1V8 GPIOs - is expensive, effort and adds delays... and burns mor power at the end...)
Never mind:
I am working on a RP2350 MCU in combination with a FPGA (Artix 7). This should be used as level shifter but also for HW extension for a Pico 2 (implementing "exotic" interfaces, e.g. MDIO, QSPI, SPMI, ...) - even the RP2350 PIO can be used to implement almost all of the interfaces (just the "level shifting" issue remains there - please, give me a 1V8 option on GPIO pins!).
Who is interested in RP2350 combined with an FPGA (and supporting 1V8 as well as 1V2)?
Please, if any vendor designs a module with the RP2350 - please, add option to run VDDIO also with 1V8!
Thank you.
