I do not understand how a forum full of supposed knowledgeable users of raspbian cannot figure out how to simply use a piece of software on the device.
I can install HDHomeRun on a windows machine and it uses the device, so the hardware does work, and is capable.
I can even click links from the software for it to launch in VLC.
Nowhere, and I mean NOWHERE, is there any explanation how this gets to VLC, or how to determine a stream url to do this.
There are guides how to do things with newer tuners that support viewing channels by browsing to the device by ip - my device does not. I browse by ip, the only links I get are download drivers and instructions - nothing for linux of course.
I did find some linux tools from hdhomerun, nothing that includes any instructions how to actually make it work.
Every guide or video I find online shows me how to do it with newer models, and are useless for this device.
So, I ask, how is it that NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO USE THIS BOX!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
