I contacted the ISP and they informed me I can put in my own router. They said the network is managed and that I would need to call them to clear the connection before I plug in my router. So I think that is the direction I am going to go. With that in mind I could really use some suggestions and resources.
Yes I want to get a Pi Hole up and running for my devices. But I am far more interested in networking than that. I'd be very interested in a home lab. I'd really appreciate some feedback at this juncture in my journey.
I have beginner to slightly intermediate comprehension of networking. It's 2024. Could you please provide suggestions as to what router would be good for pi-hole and expanding my comprehension (room to grow). Furthermore could you direct me to good resources concerning home lab networking for hobbyist/enthusiasts where I could expand my understanding of what the possibilities are, getting started,..... I'd be interested in exploring interesting projects for a home network. I learn by doing.
It's a big ask so I understand if responses are brief or nonexistent. So for any solid help whatsoever I really appreciate you.
