That's correct and worked when I tested it. The target chip should ignore everything which isn't intended for it, should remain in its BOOTSEL mode until it receives a UF2 intended for it, or sees a reset or power-reset after which it should run the program which was last loaded to it.I thought the uf2 files for the Pico 2 were tagged differently than the original Pico so an image for the Pico 2 would be ignored by the original Pico.
There's nothing I can see which would brick an RP2040 except running code which may set pins as output opposite to how they are tied to 3V3 or 0V/GND. That can't happen by trying to load a UF2 for an RP235X, doesn't seem to have happened if other video generating code is still working.
But, as said, I do recall an uncannily similar posting which I believe also involved DOOM not running after doing similar to the OP.
I can't find any evidence of that existing. Has the OP asked the same previously but got their thread deleted because of their link ?
