Then, unless you have turned it back on again, you have no 'guest' access to/from Windows. As a noobee, I will try to provide more info:
Which "level" of windows your clients are running? Home, Pro, Enterprise, etc.? Windows 11 Peo
Guest access is when you are allowed to connect as an unknown user, the latest 'Enterprise' versions of Windows have blocked this, Samba has never allowed this by default, you have to manually set it up.
I think that means you have created a user on the rpi with the same username as on Windows and made that user a Samba user with 'sudo smbpasswd -a $USERNAME', where '$USERNAME' is the Windows and Linux user.Did you create matching Samba and Linux users for your clients? I am the only user. I am trying to keep the username/password the same for the Pi 5 and Samba
See above about the 'guest' user. Are you trying to use guest access from the windows clients? With me being the only user, I guess there will be no guest user.
Sorry, but I do not watch youtube videos, as I suggested earlier, follow Thagrol's guide, it is probably the best out there.I do have a Raspberry Pi 4 and was able to successfully create a NAS with two external hard drives using Samba. This is what I used to achieve the Pi 4 NAS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0Sc2n3gUqA&t=878s.
One of my hopes is to learn how to leverage Powershell as a means to communicate to both PC and Raspberry Pi device.
Happy to supply more info if needed.
I would also suggest you forget powershell, I have never used it with Samba and I think I know a little about Samba.
