Troubleshooting • How to fix my power button on my pi 5

I have a Raspberry Pi 5 board, and I’m running into an issue where the USB and power button areas get extremely hot very quickly after powering it on. The board powers up when plugged in, but within moments, these areas heat up to the point where it’s concerning. I’ve tried removing all peripherals to rule out any connected devices causing excessive power draw, but the issue persists. The power supply seems fine, as I’m using the recommended 5V/3A supply. I suspect there may be a short or damage to the board, especially considering the power button itself was previously burnt out. I’ve tried bypassing the power switch by directly powering through the GPIO pins, but the heating issue remains. Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on what could be causing this and how to fix it?
