The pi 5 with the usb adapter is one floor almost directly above. According to the applet the signal strength is roughly 55% to 60%. I have it connected to the Pi 5 with a usb 3 extension cable (sitting on a desk) because the adapter itself blocks the other usb ports on the pi.Out of interest what sort of range line of sight do you get with it ?Yep, works well at 6GHz.
I could probably move the adapter onto the floor with the cable so it gets an even stronger signal to the router on the ground floor, but I've not yet felt the need to do so.
The router in use is the TP-Link BE550. And it's set to use WPA3.
I just did a longer ping test via ssh and here are the results from the Pi 5 pinging the router:
236 packets transmitted, 236 received, 0% packet loss, time 235381ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.916/1.677/3.887/0.635 ms
