Well i understand the ir wouldnt work, what i was thinking of having is like a setup where the RP has an input and output and the input is the hdmi plugin from the roku stick or firestick and the output goes to the tv, kind of like the way a recorder is set up for gaming, then as the video goes through the RP we can use a remote viewing such as teamviewer to use the raspberry pi along with an application on the pi that uses a smart remote application that would then be done on the wifi physically there but remote from my devices, i know this sounds alot but it was the process i kind of imagined. I just know latency wont be friendly here with the transport of image multiple times. I understand physical technology not software by the way, sorry hahaha.
