If you are questioning my having setup Samba correctly, then be aware that the directory *is* being shared. I can see it from the Windows machine.
It's just that what I see from the Windows machine is the state of the directory as of when Samba was started (via the "service" command) rather than the current/actual contents of the directory (i.e., the contents of the external drive).
Anyway, if there is some config file setting that controls this, I'd be happy to hear about it.
