understand why folks think NVMe is essential and why its absense on the 500 is a deal breaker.
If someone likes form factor of Pi500 but still wants NVME because of speed, reliability, higher capacity and simply doesn't trust sd cards then it is a deal breaker. Also some folks in the past reused pi400 motherboard because of having connectors on one side. Or even used pi400 as is with proper keyboard attached because of the big heatsink inside. And it is simply annoying that unlike with the Pi5 the pci-e is not there in any usable form, so in that sense the pi500 board is crippled and is a step back to pi4(00) days (well, unless you can solder very tiny components which most people can't). So at least for those two (possibly small) groups it may be a deal breaker.

Personally I don't belong into any such group. I did get pi400 previously but the keyboard quality was not great (got missing letters when typing) and later I found out I like keyboard backlight a lot so no pi500 for me.
