Have you actually tried using a Pi5 with a decent NVME ssd as a PC ?It's a really really bad PC.
I suspect not.
Its true, the first Pi models years ago were fun and educational, but hopeless as a PC (time to go and get a coffee while a web page loaded!). As time has gone by and faster and faster models appeared, and with the Pi5 I finally took the plunge and replaced my huge electricity guzzling tower PC with an overclocked 8Gb Pi5, a Samsung 990 Pro NVME drive tucked invisibly underneath.
This arrangement is the size of a credit card and sips power. Over the months I have found it just as usable as the huge PC was. I now have lots of spare desk space! Of course I know I could build or buy a faster Intel computer at considerable cost compared to the Pi but why bother?
I have used Pi's from day one, and found them to be extremely reliable and dependable, and importantly very easy to fix if there are any problems (only ever things like failed overclocking experiments). The supplied OS is well maintained and supported.
However, now the Pi5 is my primary computer, I actually have a second one, setup and ready to go, just in case, they are that small and cheap.
