Advanced users • Re: Attempt to stop SD card from expanding during first boot (bookworm)

I run the code like below:

chroot mnt /usr/sbin/update-initramfs -u
Where mnt is where I mount my image file. However seems like it did nothing. SD card still expand to max size.

In anticipation of your reply, I tested using image-chroot to modify the image file by commenting out the 'do_resize' line and then running update-initramfs. Auto-expansion does NOT occur.

I can't over-emphasize that it's so much easier to use the original approach I pointed you to. No chroot nor update-initramfs is needed.
Do you mind to share what exact command you execute after comment out do_resize line?
