Blasting ACDC at 120 Decibels should deter snails except for hard core rockers.I wonder if you could use ACDC
I use rough wood chips as mulch. Snails have delicate tummies and do not like the harsh dry wood. Watering is through drip irrigation so it does not create a slippery slide type approach.
