Networking and servers • Re: Samba share no permission for user

Thank you a lot for your clarification. I forgot to mention that the path i use leads to the directories on my mounted ssd, which I would like to share. So far, simply replacing the auto mounted directory /media/pi/path by /srv/path in the smb.conf did not do the job.

I also tested creating a srv/path share as you described in the great documentation but this creates a directory on the microSD, i boot from, not the mounted ssd. Though, adopting the smb.conf accordingly, grants both users to this new path via samba, as desired.

In sum, my corrected problem would be to access the mounted ssd directories?
Your use of /media/pi suggests that you are using an external USB drive and are relying on the desktop automounter. That's no idea for Samba.
Could you please clarify for me as an ambitious beginner how i would create a correct path to access the mounted ssd or to auto-mount it in a way that all users may have access?
