Other projects • Pico W - Garden Solar lighting

What I'm trying to build is a Pico W with web frontend that controls my garden lights or any other battery powered device. There's two parts to the project.

Pico W with frontend to access and configure WiFi setup once setup a web front end that shows status on or off, battery level and ability to change schedule on and off times. Generally happy with this and will be developed using Microsoft Python

The next part is where I would like some assistance with and that being the power & battery charging. My plan is to reuse an existing 12v unregulated solar panel, this needs to connected to some form of rechargeable battery capacity TBC but sufficient to power garden lights and Pico. From the battery there's two outputs one always on to power Pico another connected to relay/switch that connects to the light's. Pico will need some way of monitoring battery level and a link to switch relay on and off.

So any advise on what electrical components I need to build the power source would be appreciated, I'm not expert in this field and would like to learn more and my options
