Today I had to buy a new pi 5 because reasons, decided to try that out with the old display 2 and it magically worked without any problems!!!
I am guessing it was a dsi port problem on the old 4b or perhaps something else, probably no the dsi cable because i had tried 4 different cables including 2 new ones.
tldr: it was not the screen, it was the board
my problem is fixed, this thread can be closed if that should be done.
