No disagreement. Your transistor pinout will be precisely what the manufacturer stated.So obviously there is some disagreement about the pinout of TO-92: some say pin one is emitter, some say it's collector.
Very funny or confusing. According to my experience, leftmost collector is true. Hoping all TO-92 packaged transistors behave in the same way.
You can not generalise the pinout of all transistors (as you have discovered).
