Until this, I couldn't find a way to interact with a long range zoom lens with autofocus and auto iris via RPi's camera port, so went with this USB camera: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C699D5GJ?re ... tle_3&th=1.
It does work, but probably won't give me the range I need. I do wonder if there is a Canon lens with built in image stabilization (unlike from the camera body), and if it will work in this scenario. Do you have any idea?
