Saw a recent report that Chinese companies are making urban scooters using Sodium batteries, so the scale up is happening.They've been 'up and coming' since I was youngbut I think the up and coming Sodium Ion batteries will be enough better than SLA and enough cheaper than Lithium to have a chance to take over the field.)![:D]( "Very Happy")
Of course they are fine for UPSes as the low energy density per unit weight isn't a problem, but UPSes aren't a large enough market to drive up volumes and hence drive down costs.
