I've not tried this myself with the extra layers of secureboot and uboot. Now this could be totally useless to you, But you can add an image directly to the kernel itself so you don't need to use the initramfs method (this is the method I've used with buildroot) just bake the splash into the kernel. maybe that helps likely not but this could gain you some traction on this thread.I am using secureboot -> uboot -> linux kernel via buildroot
I'd like to show a splash screen during the rsa decryption period, and/or u-boot.
I could draw to fb with a ramdisk script I know, but at that stage, X is ~1 second away from starting anyway.
Is it possible to load a splash during secureboot stage or via u-boot?
It seems the fb in fdt is not mapped to video memory, at least not when VC4 kms is enabled in config.txt (requirement)
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thank you![]()
Good luck if you work it out you should post it back here.
