hi guys! i hope you're all fine
i was thinking about if i can buy only the SoC of the raspberry pi instead of the entire board, i did a quick research but i think there is no way, waiting for confirmed response, thanks
bye!
If you want the SOC to put in a museum display case, you could buy a broken Pi and use hot air to remove the burned out SOC.

Repairability is a popular topic these days, but as far as I know the SOC used on the Pi is not sold in single unit quantities by Raspberry Pi to repair shops. More importantly, in my opinion, neither is the PMIC nor RP1 south bridge available.

On the other hand a Pi-like device can be created using a SOC from Amlogic or RockChip. There are other companies who have done this, but it is an extremely competitive market.

If you want to design a computer circuit board and are willing to forgo Linux compatibility, using one of the RP MCUs would be a good choice. Another alternative is a retro computer based on a Z80 or similar 8-bit microprocessor.
