I have a rev 1 board, which confusingly identifies itself using revision code 2, revision code 1 being used for the beta boards. Still fully functional. Just doing first boot of Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm 32-bit Lite on it now. Interestingly, my official Raspberry Pi A2-class micro SD card seems to work perfectly with it (obviously using the supplied full-sized adaptor). With no network connected, logging into the console and running "top" shows swap usage at 2.2MB. I would be surprised if this could get the graphical desktop running.D??n. I'm curious. Now I've got to dig out mine and see. It's so old it even has the poly fuses on the USB ports. The 256MB boards are marginal on Bookworm: luckily that's a tiny percentage of the installed base. I don't think a 256MB board will even run the graphical desktop out of the box, but it might, as they've upped the default pagefile size for Bookworm - used to be 100MB, then 200MB, and it's now 512MB.
ETA: Just tried a sudo apt update, sudo apt full-upgrade and this fails with the following error:
