This is a Pi5 per OP which requires Bookworm, and Bookworm does not use wpa_supplicant to configure WiFi networks.When adding the wpa_supplicant.conf file, did you write it with a text editor or a word processor.
On Bookworm, WiFi networks are configured using Network Manager, either via the GUI applets, or command line nmtui or nmcli.
