A barcode is less dense than a QR code for a given data capacity. If you can fit a linear barcode you can fit a QR code. You can scale wither to any size you like, but standard reader devices will have limits on what sizes they can read. If you can choose the optics for your reader you can read any size code.Im planning on making a system with a barcode scanner at the bottom of the elevator nowHow many lanes are there and how many elevators?
We could have an RFID (or barcode) scanner at the bottom of each elevator and/or at the top as the cars will be slow there?
What is the elevator like? If there is any place where all cars pass through a constrained position and/or at slower speed then that would be a goo place for a lap counter to detect them, but aone lap is usually relative to crossing a finish line. If a car crashes part way round it may have been counted at the elevator but not make it to the finish line.
