There was a recent issue with hardware acceleration in Chromium, where video was just blank. The work around was to disable the hardware acceleration.
This has now been resolved with an update. You do need to switch the acceleration on though.
Go into settings on chromium and select the "system" settings. You should there be able to enable hardware acceleration.
