You can try this https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/Pico-ResTouch-LCD-3.5 examples and wiring diagram. It's a bit different display driver but same touch controller. They both share SPI for LCD and touch. So you will need some male-female jumper wires.
PS. I've compiled https://files.waveshare.com/upload/f/fc ... X_Code.zip for RP2040 so it will be always using 3,5" display.
PS2. You can remove that adapter brick, and use female-female du-ponts.
