the OS on the RPi is Raspbian Linux 10.

I have no way of knowing what impact it may have on your particular issue, but Raspberry Pi are continually making improvements to the tuning and performance of their own supported Operating System running on their own hardware.

The version of what was then Raspbian (a 32-bit OS) based on Debian 10 'Buster' was obsoleted by the announcement of RasPiOS Bullseye (based on Debian 11) in November 2021.

The current supported release of RasPiOS at the time of writing is based on Debian 12 'Bookworm'. And the release of the upcoming version based on Debian 13 'Trixie' is anticipated Real Soon Now, and is being pre-release tested elsewhere in these forums. TVheadend is being mentioned in that context.

So just a thought that a comparison with a current supported OS might help get the best throughput from your RPi3B board.

And if you migrate to an RPi[5] board you will have no option but to use at least RasPiOS Bookworm.

{Edit: added reference to TVheadend in beta testing.}
