If Fido were still around, the prospect of $1000 in premium dog treats would surely lead to a code in FidoBasic that uses Dogmann codes to backup data at 12 Gbit/sec. As it is, the doghouse is filled with kittens who spend more time playing with the mouse than actually coding.I challenge anyone to push 4Gb/s throughput to 5 pi's in a backup scenario. I used a 10gb/s windows pc to aggregate 5 1gb/s standard pi's
If you do so and I can replicate it, I am willing to award $1000 to anyone that can beat my upload score of 10GB in 20 seconds. the other part of the challenge is using udp packets only. You can't use TCP/IP in the challenge. There will need to be some kind of re-transmits for lost packets.
The kitten named Scratchy claims layer violations in modern routers and switches make it inefficient to use anything but TCP/IP. Purr purred that UDP is still good for flinging packets while playing video games. Shy looked shyly at the ground wondering if C# even ran on a Pi and whether jumbo packets could fetch many fish.
