Software OSes, are versions of historic proportions. No one make such any more. Such low level coding is way out there.I am new to the forum and know the Raspberry Pi 4 very well I was wondering how Raspberry Pi software was made, such as the kernel and the bootloader, as I am planning on making a custom OS for my Raspberry Pi 4
But you can get bootloader and kernels, but I suggest you start by looking at the bootloader in maybe the Linux > Debian(bookworm) offering that is part of the RaspberryPi recommended install.
If you can get a bootloader to install and edit you may be able to modify more to your liking, as a start.
A kernel is a much bigger build and you are likely to want to modify an existing one that make your own.
And what do you mean 'know' the Raspberry Pi ~ you have one and you do coding?
And what do you want form a Custom OS
Just a bootloader would be impressive. I was using GRUB2 on my laptop to dual boot Win 11 and Ubuntu 22.04
