Idle at the Raspberry Pi OS (Bookworm) desktop...

Code:

 ./consumption.shAverage pmic output = 2.58919 W
USB-C meter: 3.65W

And running ffts...

Code:

./consumption.shAverage pmic output = 10.8984 W
USB-C meter: 14.05W

Both tests were at 3GHz with over_voltage_delta=25000.

I pulled out the USB cable to my KVM as soon as the test started, so there was no keyboard or mouse adding to that. My previous 16W figure for the fft test included illuminated keyboard and mouse.

I can't unplug everything easily, but that just left an IQaudIO Codec Zero ADC/DAC bonnet that takes virtually nothing when it's idle (it goes to sleep), an OLED clock display that takes around 5mA from the 3V3 rail, and the fan that takes 25mA from the 5V rail.
