i assume you mean the desktop extends beyond the physical display, so you cant see to the edge.

look in the forum (or the DOCS) for "overscan"

this happens with some TVs i think.

If the screen has no option to configure its input correctly, then I believe the KMS driver has "margin_xxx=n" options which can be added to the "video=" part of cmdline.txt, like this
