Thank you Thagrol, that worked a treat. The stick has a standard usb A plug and I was using a usb A skt to micro usb plug to connect to the Pi zero. I had tried various sticks that all worked under Bookworm, so I was convinced something had changed with the new Trixie, but searching here and on the internet didn't give me any clues.
