I do not know much about MediaPipe, so will skirt around that!
The IMX500 can run AI image inference on the sensor, which means all that work is offloaded from the Zero 2, leaving the CPU available for all other tasks, The sensor will run at 1080p30fps whilst doing the inference. IMX500 is fully supported in libcamera.
If you want to run the inference on the CPU (mediapipe?), it will be considerably slower, probably unusable. And you would not need the AI camera at all. Just use the V3.
