I assume the error message you're getting is the following. I'm running Sonoma (14.8.7) on an M3 MacBook Pro. If you're running a different version of the OS, the message may be slightly different.

On your Mac go to: System Setting > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders. Find Raspberry Pi Imager in the list of apps on the right. Click on the > to the left of the name to get the associated options. Enable Removable Volumes. You'll be asked for your password. Enter it. If Raspberry Pi Imager is running, it will tell you that the app needs to be restarted. Hopefully, that will solve your problem.
