It would be interesting to see how the sustained performance for each compare over a short and long Pi race. For example, what about

Code:

$ ./pirace -o 8845HSshort.dat # on the Ryzen 7$ sleep 60$ ./pirace -o 8845HSlong.dat -k2 -l900
versus

Code:

$ ./pirace -o 12700Hshort.dat # on the i7$ sleep 60$ ./pirace -o 12700Hlong.dat -k2 -l900
Regrettably the 12700H laptop died yesterday, the screen just went black never to power up again! So much for Lenovo reliability (less than 2 years old). Had to revive the 8 year old Toshiba which still works just fine.

The long and short runs for the 8845HS give essentially the same results.

Code:

  Average Mflops per core: 7668.27 Standard deviation: 65.0436 Fast to slow core ratio: 1.0298 Raspberry Pi 4B ratio: 105.716 Total Mflops: 122692
I'm sorry to hear about the laptop. That was a surprisingly short service life.

Did you graph 8845HSshort.dat to see whether there was a transient region at the beginning?

Oh, and Happy Easter!
