I agree. It is difficult to switch LCG and HCG mode dynamically and seamlessly.
Can we define LCG and HCG mode and start with the option like --hcg ?

HCG mode is already x5.8 gain, the band noise can be more emphasized.

Thank you - confirming that HCG adds another chunk of gain means that you can't automatically switch it on and off based on analogue gain setting.
