You can take an SD card from any Pi model and use it in another model with 1 exception. The OS install is not tied to a specific board.

Err no.

You can move an SD card to a different Pi model provided that model existed in the wild at the time the OS was released. The "Releases" table here should shed some light on this.

And while you can move a 64bit OS from a Pi5 to a 4B or 400 you cannot move it to a zero, zeroW, Pi 1 (A,B, B+, or A+), or early 2B and expect it to work as their ARM cores are not capable of 64bit operation.

If you're not running Raspberyr Pi OS you'll need to ask the folks behind the OS you are running.
