Thanks for teh reply but holy poopski that's a lot of work to make the MIPI port work for a display. The company is a chinese manufacturer and currently saying I just need the Pi root files. I've already got the HDMI driver board but for packing purposes I would like to try and use the MIPI port so I don't have an extra board to squeeze in.

However, in saying that the display requires 2amps via USB C to power the display board and display so begs the question how many amps the Pi MIPI port can kick out.
