Troubleshooting • Re: Raspberry Pi 4 running pi hole keeps filling up with space

I am having a problem where the SD card on the Pi 4 is filling up mysteriously. It has not done this since we we started running the pi hole back in February of this year, but in the past week this has happened about three times already. Thankfully I'm able to duplicate the SD card from a USB flash drive backup I've been making monthly, but it's starting to get ridiculous.

It seems? to be the case that the space is being filled up in /var/log but I can't be certain since ncdu is reporting that sizes may not be accurate.

- Could this be a symptom of SD card failure?
- Could the pi be compromised in some way? I changed the login details but that doesn't mean that there isn't something buggered

Any other troubleshooting steps offered would be greatly appreciated. This is a new problem and it's a little nebulous.
Pi hole by default; does a lot of logging...It might be that. I would suggest that you look at the logs. clear anything that you don't want to keep; then set it up so it only records the data that you need...In my case; I switched most of it off. The other thing that I do is to put the logs on tmpfs. Obviously; that means that it disappears after a reboot.
