Useful to know. I'd like to see someone from upstream confirming the patch is correct, but disappointingly the fix posted has had no feedback so far.35 hours on patched kernel and memory use as reported by htop is at 231M. Without the patch it would've been over 2G by now. So yes, I'd say issue resolved!
I'll keep an eye out.
